Young Women's Alliance

About Young Women's Alliance

Since 1993, the Young Women's Alliance has served as Austin, Texas's premier community organization dedicated to empowering confident, engaged women leaders who transform their communities. What began as a gathering of 20 young professional women in the home of Carol Thompson, a leading Austin businesswoman, has evolved into a thriving network of many of Austin's most prominent business and community leaders. YWA creates an intentional, supportive space where women can grow professionally while maintaining deep connections to the Austin community they serve. The organization recognizes that women leaders transform communities, and YWA actively nurtures this transformation through its commitment to giving back. Members are encouraged to volunteer throughout the year with partner organizations that reflect Austin's unique character and values, from the Austin Diaper Bank and Girls Empowerment Network to beloved local institutions like the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The Community Impact Committee organizes monthly volunteer events that allow members to connect with one another while supporting causes that matter. YWA's vision extends beyond individual success to collective community impact, fostering a strong network of young philanthropists committed to supporting underrepresented women and building the next generation of women leaders. For women seeking not just professional advancement but genuine community belonging and the opportunity to make meaningful impact in Austin, Young Women's Alliance offers a welcoming, purposeful home where leadership and service intersect.
