Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance Valley of the Sun Chapter
About Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance Valley of the Sun Chapter
Founded in 1953, the Phoenix Chapter of the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance established a legacy of supporting women professionals in accounting and finance across the Mesa and greater Phoenix area. When the Mesa East Valley Chapter was created in 1986, it expanded these opportunities for leadership and connection throughout the region. In 2022, these two chapters merged to form the Valley of the Sun Chapter, combining their collective expertise and resources to strengthen the organization's presence and impact across the entire Phoenix metropolitan area. Today, the Valley of the Sun Chapter represents a thriving community of accounting and finance professionals united by shared values of empowerment, integrity, leadership, and passion. The chapter operates on the foundational belief that women in all accounting and finance fields deserve opportunities to achieve their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their profession. Members come from diverse backgrounds and experience levels, creating an inclusive environment where professionals at every stage of their careers can find support, mentorship, and meaningful connections. Beyond monthly educational meetings, the chapter actively engages in community service projects including professional clothing drives, scholarship fundraising, and support for local organizations. The Valley of the Sun Chapter in Mesa embodies more than 80 years of organizational commitment to advancing women in the accounting and finance industry. By joining this chapter-based community, professionals gain access to a network of successful, motivated women who understand the unique challenges and opportunities facing women in their field and who collectively work toward the future development of the profession.
