About Blacks In Technology Twin Cities
Blacks In Technology Twin Cities serves the Minneapolis, MN community as a mission-driven organization dedicated to addressing systemic underrepresentation of Black workers throughout the technology industry. Recognizing that Black technologists often find themselves isolated as the only person of color in their workplace, the organization has built a supportive ecosystem grounded in three core pillars: community, media, and mentorship. Through these interconnected approaches, the organization provides resources and guidance that challenge members to establish new standards of innovation while building meaningful professional relationships. The Twin Cities chapter is part of the larger Blacks In Technology Foundation, recognized as the largest community of Black people in the technology industry globally. The organization's fundamental mission centers on "stomping the divide" between Black tech workers and fundamentally transforming an industry that has historically neglected parity and equity. By fostering connections among members, providing educational opportunities, and creating volunteer pathways for those seeking to make a difference, Blacks In Technology Twin Cities cultivates an environment where Black technologists can advance their careers, share expertise, and contribute to systemic change. The organization's commitment extends beyond individual advancement to include broader industry transformation through training, education, networking, and sustained mentorship supported by partners, sponsors, and most importantly, its engaged global membership.
