National Council of Jewish Women of Canada
Since 1897, the National Council of Jewish Women of Canada has been a pioneering force for social justice in Toronto, ON and beyond, serving as a catalyst for change across Jewish and general communities locally, nationally, and internationally. NCJWC represents a community of women united by the belief that progressive ideals, when put into action, create meaningful transformation for individuals and society.
What distinguishes NCJWC is its distinctive bridge-building capacity—connecting diverse populations, cultures, and causes to advance human welfare. The organization identifies emerging needs among women of varied backgrounds and abilities, ensuring their voices are heard through innovative programming and dedicated advocacy. From fighting for civil rights and women's and children's protections to addressing public health concerns and supporting the elderly, NCJWC's work has profoundly impacted people across diverse ages, races, and religious backgrounds.
The organization's mission reflects core Jewish values of social responsibility and community care. NCJWC members share a commitment to nurturing progressive ideals and translating them into concrete action. As an active member of the International Council of Jewish Women, NCJWC extends its advocacy globally, working at the United Nations and beyond to advance freedom, rights, and improved conditions for women worldwide. For over a century, NCJWC volunteers have demonstrated that dedicated community service, education, and social action can fulfill unmet needs and strengthen the fabric of our communities.
