Founded in March 1969 by Paolo Fenu, Gustavo Pocobelli, Pier Luigi Siccardi, Giulio Stella, and Saverio Lorenzo, the Italian Canadian Association of Saskatoon represents decades of dedicated community service and cultural stewardship. What began as a vision among first-generation Italian immigrants has grown into a thriving non-profit organization that honors the sacrifices of those who built the Saskatoon Italian Cultural Centre. In 1980, early members pooled their resources to purchase the 17-acre parcel of land that now serves as the heart of Italian cultural life in Saskatoon, SK. This remarkable achievement reflects the deep commitment of volunteers who have generously donated their time, money, and skills to establish and maintain the facility. The organization's history is documented through its Donor Wall, which celebrates the families and businesses whose contributions made the Cultural Centre possible. Today, ICAS continues this legacy of community-building by providing a welcoming space where Italian language, culture, and tradition flourish in Saskatoon. The organization remains rooted in its founding principles of maintaining cultural heritage while sharing it authentically with the entire community. Membership in ICAS connects individuals to a rich network of Italian-Canadian families and supporters dedicated to preserving their cultural identity for future generations.
