About Recovery Room Experience: Open House & Community Forum

We're bringing our Recovery Room Saturdays monthly gathering experience to a community near you! Join us to learn more and how to connect!

About This Event
Safe spaces for Black men exist—and we're bringing the Recovery Room experience directly to the community.

Join us on Saturday, July 18th for a special Recovery Room Saturdays Gathering that will serve as our 2026 inaugural Open House & Community Forum, an opportunity to connect with the Recovery Room organization, meet our leadership team, learn more about our mission, and experience firsthand what makes our community unique.

If you're a Black man in the DMV area seeking authentic connection, meaningful conversation, professional development opportunities, career resources, wellness support, or simply a sense of brotherhood and belonging, we want to meet you.

What is Recovery Room?
The Recovery Room (R&R) is a sanctuary for Black men seeking connection, support, and community. Since 2024, we have been intentional about creating safe spaces where Black men can cultivate brotherhood, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen their connection to community. We believe that when Black men are connected, supported, and empowered, we create stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger future for generations to come.

Life can be overwhelming, and we understand the unique challenges Black men navigate every day. Recovery Room exists to provide a safe and intentional space where men can combat mental fatigue, build meaningful relationships, and engage in honest dialogue without judgment. Much like an emergency room prioritizes care and recovery, Recovery Room prioritizes check-ins, connection, and collective healing.

This Open House & Community Forum will introduce attendees to the movement, provide opportunities to learn about our programs and initiatives, and connect participants with brothers who are committed to personal growth, wellness, leadership, and community impact.

Whether you're looking for community, mentorship, accountability, friendship, professional development, or simply a place where you can show up as your authentic self, Recovery Room welcomes you.

There is no dress code and no expectations. Just come as you are.

We are excited to meet you and learn more about how we can support your journey toward wholeness, wellness, and connection.

RSVPs are required. Light refreshments will be provided.

Recovery Room (R&R) is a wellness service initiative created to support the mental and emotional well-being of Black men. Through monthly gatherings, wellness sessions, training and development opportunities, and intentional community connections, R&R offers a safe, welcoming space for positive reflection, healing, growth, and community support. It’s a space where Black men can show up fully, find support, and be reminded they’re not alone. Too often, Black men shoulder the world’s expectations without a space to release, reset, or simply be. The Recovery Room was created to change that. We envision a dedicated sanctuary i.e. an “emergency room” for the mind, body, and spirit where Black men can: ✔ Be seen, valued, and supported ✔ Connect with purpose and community ✔ Explore positive outlets and creative expression ✔ Access culturally intentional wellness practices ✔ Build relationships that strengthen identity and resilience Our mission is simple and transformative: To curate safe spaces for Black men to connect, find purpose, and align within community. Our vision is bold and necessary: To improve the overall mental wellness of Black men, one room and one experience at a time.
