About This Event
Safe spaces for Black men exist—and we're bringing the Recovery Room experience directly to the community.
Join us on Saturday, July 18th for a special Recovery Room Saturdays Gathering that will serve as our 2026 inaugural Open House & Community Forum, an opportunity to connect with the Recovery Room organization, meet our leadership team, learn more about our mission, and experience firsthand what makes our community unique.
If you're a Black man in the DMV area seeking authentic connection, meaningful conversation, professional development opportunities, career resources, wellness support, or simply a sense of brotherhood and belonging, we want to meet you.
What is Recovery Room?
The Recovery Room (R&R) is a sanctuary for Black men seeking connection, support, and community. Since 2024, we have been intentional about creating safe spaces where Black men can cultivate brotherhood, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen their connection to community. We believe that when Black men are connected, supported, and empowered, we create stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger future for generations to come.
Life can be overwhelming, and we understand the unique challenges Black men navigate every day. Recovery Room exists to provide a safe and intentional space where men can combat mental fatigue, build meaningful relationships, and engage in honest dialogue without judgment. Much like an emergency room prioritizes care and recovery, Recovery Room prioritizes check-ins, connection, and collective healing.
This Open House & Community Forum will introduce attendees to the movement, provide opportunities to learn about our programs and initiatives, and connect participants with brothers who are committed to personal growth, wellness, leadership, and community impact.
Whether you're looking for community, mentorship, accountability, friendship, professional development, or simply a place where you can show up as your authentic self, Recovery Room welcomes you.
There is no dress code and no expectations. Just come as you are.
We are excited to meet you and learn more about how we can support your journey toward wholeness, wellness, and connection.

Free in-person session for Black men to learn real tools for managing stress, anger, and emotional control. No barriers. Just community.
GenerationDMV Check-in
Mental health is often talked about, but rarely practiced in real time, especially for Black men.
This in-person check-in is designed to create a space where Black men can learn, reflect, and walk away with tools they can actually use. Emotional Regulation for Black Men is not just a conversation, it’s a practical, solution-focused session centered on navigating stress, anger, and emotional control in everyday life.
Attendees will be guided through real-life scenarios, interactive discussion, and actionable strategies that can be applied immediately, whether at work, in relationships, or during high-pressure moments.
This experience is about breaking cycles, building awareness, and strengthening emotional discipline, without judgment.
💡 What to Expect:
A safe, supportive, and honest environment
Practical tools for managing stress, anger, and emotional triggers
Real-time strategies you can apply immediately
Guided discussion led by a Leadership Speaker & Life Coach
Opportunities to connect with other Black men in community
🎯 Why This Matters:
Too often, Black men are expected to carry everything, silently. This session creates space to unlearn that pattern, build healthier responses, and prioritize mental wellness in a real, accessible way.

The Black Mother’s March on the White House is more than an event—it’s a movement. Now in its 4th year, this powerful gathering serves as a platform to make the struggle to rescue our children a vital part of the larger fight for Black liberation.
This Mother’s Day, we unite as a collective to condemn the colonialist policies that undermine the centrality of Black life. These policies target Black families, isolate individuals, and victimize entire communities. Through this march, we give a voice to those who have been silenced and take a stand against the injustices of the Family Policing System.
The march is an opportunity to reclaim our power, amplify our voices, and resist a system designed to oppress. Together, we will demand accountability, justice, and the freedom to build futures where Black families are protected and cherished.
Whether you are a mother, father, grandparent, an advocate, or a co-conspirator, your presence matters. Join us in Washington, D.C., to honor our shared commitment to liberation, community, and Black Love.
