We are a safe space uniting the community and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. Since our founding in 2015, we provide resources for our people and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Through our center, we host support groups, supply emergency food, hygiene products, masks & clothing, facilitate community education, provide senior services, host sexual wellness workshops, offer mental health support, and accommodate community gatherings for progressive groups.
Five years ago in Mobile, Alabama, a group of community leaders and volunteers came together to create a peer support group for LGBTQ teens. Over time, the support group unearthed broader issues facing LGBTQ youth in the area, underscoring the need for a project that could adequately respond to those issues.
Prism United offers programming for LGBTQ youth and the people who care for them. Our youth programs—Prism Teens and Prism Preteens—provide in-person and virtual gatherings, special events, and other services for youth ages 10-18. Our Prism Families program provides peer support and local resources for family members of LGBTQ youth.
The Magic City Acceptance Center was established in the Spring of 2014 as a program of Birmingham AIDS Outreach.

In 2017, TKO became the first and only AIDS Service Organization (ASO) and STD/STI clinic in the state of Alabama founded and led by Black Trans and LGBQ people. Our goal is to help more Black trans, same-gender-loving, and Black queer folks access high-quality primary care and endocrinology services.
