Matthew Lara was born in Chandler, Arizona and raised all over the state of Arizona. In 2002-2004, Matthew volunteered two years of his life to provide service for a non-profit in Romania. In that time, Matthew learned the Romanian language and culture and indulged in the wonderful Romanian food.
After returning from his service in Romania, Matthew attended and graduated from the distinguished WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, earning his bachelor's in Business Finance.
Matthew then pursued his dream of becoming an attorney by attending and graduating from the University of Arizona College of Law. His studies there were focused on international business law and tax. While attending law school, Matthew had the opportunity to return to Romania and intern for one of the most distinguished international law firms in the entire world, McGuire Woods. There, Matthew was exposed to international law and learned the legal aspects of doing business in Romania.
More recently Matthew Lara started The Lara Law Group, PLC in Arizona and hopes to focus his practice in international law and tax.
Serving the Tempe and Phoenix, Arizona communities, the Honorary Consulate General of Romania represents the Government of Romania through dedicated consular representation. Led by an Honorary Consul who resides locally in the Phoenix area, this independent diplomatic mission brings governmental services directly to Arizona residents.
