📚✨ A Special Book Club for a Special Mission ✨
Well Read Sistas is bringing our Sistahood to Octavia’s Bookshelf — a beloved Black woman–owned bookstore in Pasadena that honors the legacy of Octavia E. Butler and embodies everything we stand for: community, creativity, and connection through Black women’s stories.
💡 Why This Matters:
Across the country, independent Black bookstores are fighting to keep their doors open. These spaces aren’t just shops—they’re sanctuaries for our stories and safe havens for our voices. Through our new Well Read Sistas Bookstore Initiative, we’re partnering with bookstores like Octavia’s Bookshelf to host monthly book club chats that drive visibility, community, and sales—while keeping the pages of Black women’s literature turning.

When Virginia isn’t learning about her clients’ needs and helping them fulfill their goals and dreams, she is spending time with her family, running, gardening, reading or baking.
Virginia currently serves on the Board of Directors of Community Legal in Nevada City and The Nest Family Resource Center and has served on the Board of Directors of United Way of Nevada County.
