What began as a luncheon meeting at the Medallion Restaurant has grown into a thriving community of legal professionals shaping the future of the Los Angeles legal landscape. Over nearly five decades, BWL has become deeply woven into the fabric of Los Angeles, CA's legal and social communities. The organization has consistently demonstrated its commitment through meaningful action—from providing holiday food baskets to families in need and supporting shelters for homeless and battered women, to expanding outreach programs in local schools. In partnership with the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, BWL co-founded what is now the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, a recognition of their dedication to serving vulnerable populations.
