The opening of the Consulate in Fresno was due to the need for Mexican agricultural workers to have the support and services of a Representation of the Mexican Government and the fact that the large number of compatriots established in the valley made it difficult for them to move to cities. such as Los Angeles or San Francisco, either to process their documents or to request advice and the city of Fresno was chosen, as it is one of the largest in the central part of the San Joaquin Valley and, so to speak, the heart of the aforementioned valley, also because a series of federal offices are located.
