Consulate General of Ireland, San Francisco
The Consulate General in San Francisco works to promote and protect Irish interests in the Western United States, whether it is working with the Irish community, promoting Irish economic interest, supporting the strong partnership between Ireland and the states of the Western US, or helping Irish citizens in difficulty. The Consulate also provides a range of key consular services: processing passport and visa applications; authenticating documents; providing information on travelling to, living and working in Ireland, and much more.
The Consulate General of Ireland San Francisco offers consular services to the following states:
Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii, Colorado, New Mexico, Guam & the Marianas.
The Consulate works with Ireland’s Embassy in Washington DC, our other six Consulates in the US and State Agencies to pursue opportunities that will deliver economic growth and jobs for Ireland. We also help maintain and enhance links with our Irish-American diaspora and promote Irish culture in new and traditional forms.
The Consulate works closely with Ireland’s Embassy in Washington DC and State Agencies throughout the United States to promote trade, tourism and inward investment. We can:
- Support Irish companies who want to find and access new markets and help with resolving commercial difficulties where possible;
- Provide general advice on doing business locally and, through our network of contacts, pursue export and investment opportunities that will benefit Ireland;
- Work to secure market access for Irish products in key sectors in high-growth and emerging markets.
The Consulate and our four Irish Honorary Consuls General and Honorary Consuls also help to provide consular assistance to Irish citizens who need it while travelling in the Western United States.
Irish Network Bay Area
The Irish Network Bay Area was established in 2008 with support from the Irish Government. The focus of the network is as follows:
- Foster long-lasting connections between members and their peers, industry leaders, and mentors.
- Provide relevant and insightful content to the community through regular events.
- Sustain the already strong economic and cultural relationships between Ireland and the United States.

Irish Immigration Pastoral Center
The Irish Immigration Pastoral Center (IIPC) is a non-profit, volunteer managed organization assisting Irish immigrants in the San Francisco and the Bay Area. IIPC is committed to providing advice, information, advocacy, referral and support.
The mission of the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center (IIPC) is to provide a home away from home for Irish immigrants in the Western United States. In essence, it is a parish without boundaries offering spiritual, social, medical, educational, legal, financial guidance and advice to Irish who are thousands of miles away from home and family.
The IIPC often helps to lessen the feelings of loneliness, isolation and frustration experienced by so many recently arrived Irish immigrants, in addition to providing practical assistance to members of our community.

Sponsors of the San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival, Peter Yorke Day, Robert Emmett Day, the Grand Marshal’s Dinner and several events at local senior residences.
This Organization shall be known as the United Irish Societies of San Francisco, Inc.. It shall consist of various member Irish Societies, which are represented in this organization by delegates.
The purpose of the United Irish Societies of San Francisco is to preserve and perpetuate the democratic principles of the Irish people, and of those for the freedom of Ireland and of the United States of America; to enlist the goodwill and cooperation of our fellow citizens in support of such democratic principles; and to coordinate the functions of member societies through the maintenance of a master calendar of events. This Organization is exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and athletic purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.
