OYE 2026
This year's 14th Annual Orgullo y Educacion (OYE)
Celebrate 14 years with us as we bring together hundreds of local youth ages 12-22. This day is an opportunity for youth and their parents to explore questions of identity and purpose, and build community through a fun and interactive day that includes hands-on workshops, inspirational speakers, artistic expression, community resource sharing, and networking.
Free breakfast and lunch provided for all in-person participants.
The OYE 2026 Planning Committee looks forward to celebrating with you!
OYE 2026 is a Fiscally Sponsored Project of the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation.
Our keynote speaker for OYE 2026 is Dr. Manuel Alejandro Pérez.
Dr. Manuel Alejandro Pérez is a first-generation scholar practitioner with nearly 20+ years of professional experience in higher education across the California State University (CSU), University of California (UC), California Community College, and private university systems. His early beginnings in school as a community college student in Sacramento have greatly shaped his leadership and passion for strategic planning and action that is equity-informed and rooted in liberation for our communities.
Dr. Pérez is enthusiastic about making change that is informed by community. This is his passion. He credits this dynamic on his upbringing as a first-generation son from a migrant, immigrant, and Spanish-speaking household. These experiences inform his commitment to always lead with corazón and conviction in pursuit of justice and liberated communities.
