Activites for children such as gaming will be accessible as well. The main floor will feature various Black Creators in Comics, Fine Arts and Animation.
The San Diego Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is an organization of mothers who nurture future African-American leaders by strengthening children through chapter programming, community service, legislative advocacy, and philanthropic giving. We believe all children, with proper guidance and opportunity, can become leaders, and endeavor to make a difference in the lives of our families and other families in the San Diego area.
The visionary Marion Stubbs Thomas founded Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, on January 24, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That was the day Mrs. Stubbs Thomas brought together twenty mothers in the Philadelphia area who understood the need to create an organization that would provide youth between the ages of 2 and 19 with unique social, cultural and educational programming. Eight years later, in 1946, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. had grown to ten chapters. Together, they developed the organization’s bylaws and constitution, and the organization was incorporated under the laws of the state of Delaware.
Today, Jack and Jill boast more than 240 chapters nationwide, representing more than 40,000 family members from Alaska to Florida. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a national theme. Through service projects, each Jack and Jill of America chapter creates an opportunity for children to stimulate their growth, development and leadership abilities.
North County San Diego Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Jack and Jill is a family organization dedicated to the purpose of developing our children and fostering life-long friendships with other families in the community. We provide cultural, educational, recreational and community service opportunities aimed at enhancing and enriching the lives of our children.
Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a nationwide African-American organization of mothers who nurture future leaders by strengthening children ages 2-19. Jack and Jill is comprised of over 225 chapters in seven geographic regions, encompassing 35 states and the District of Columbia.
We are focused on nurturing our future leaders through outstanding chapter programming, community service, black history, legislative advocacy, and philanthropic giving all while emphasizing the importance of family and extended family. We are committed to ensuring that all children, not just our own, have the same opportunities in life.
This programming year, The North County San Diego Chapter of Jack and Jill is composed of 38 dedicated mothers and 66 children between the ages of 2-19 years old.
