Freedom To Flip Out: A Juneteenth pinball celebration—community, competition, and family fun. Kids under 10 play FREE!!!
Freedom To Flip Out (FTFO) returns for its 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration—bringing community, competition, and culture together through pinball. Join Us!!!
Pinball isn’t something many of us grew up around.
That lack of exposure is exactly why this event exists.
Freedom To Flip Out is about creating space for Black people to discover, learn, and enjoy pinball—together. Whether you’re brand new or already love the game, this event is designed to be welcoming, accessible, and fun for everyone.
📍 Event Details
Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Location: Lyman’s Tavern (Washington, DC)
Entry: Free (games are pay-to-play)
🕒 Schedule
1:00 PM — Welcome + Open Play
3:00 PM — Beginner Tutorial (for anyone who wants to learn)
3:30 PM — Flipper Frenzy Tournament
4:45 PM — Awards + Closing Remarks
After the event, stick around for more games, drinks, and good company.
✊🏾 Why This Matters
Pinball is a skill-based game, a creative medium, and a social experience—but it hasn’t always been visible or accessible to everyone.
FTFO is about changing that.
By building community and creating intentional spaces, we’re opening the door for more people—especially Black families—to discover something new together.
👨🏾👩🏾👧🏾 A True All-Ages Experience
This is a family-friendly event designed for all ages—whether you’re coming with friends, bringing your kids, or just curious to try something new.
Black children under 10 play FREE (with a parent).
This isn’t just about playing games—
It’s about creating moments and building community.
Bring your child, watch them play their first game, and experience that moment when they hit their first shot or get their first multiball.
Those are the kinds of memories that stick.
And along the way, you might just find yourself—and your child—making new friends.
👥 Who It’s For
First-time players
Families and kids
Casual players
Competitive players
Anyone curious about pinball
Come solo, bring your people, or make it a family outing.
Allies are welcome. But bring your Black friends too.
Showing up is good—contributing to the community is even better.
