Experience a multi cultural Vietnamese Evening without ever boarding a plane! Travel halfway around the world and experience the majesty of Vietnam as the ambassador, his wife, and the diplomats invite you to a special evening on Vietnamese soil with cultural music, dance, food, drinks, art, and more. On June 18th, the Embassy of Vietnam will open its doors at the ambassador’s home, exclusively for our members, to showcase its rich culture and traditions. Vietnam is one of the most beautiful countries in Asia, let alone the world. Learn more about its land, history, and culture in one fantastic evening. Join the diplomats as we experience centuries of culture from this Southeast Asian treasure. PROGRAM: 1) DIPLOMATIC WELCOME Meet the Vietnamese diplomats who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. 2) VIETNAMESE FOOD BY NATIVE CHEFS Tonight, the embassy will prepare many unique Vietnamese dishes. 3) LIVE VIETNAMESE DANCE PERFORMANCE AND FASHION SHOW Experience a unique fashion show of the Vietnamese traditional fashion of One Áo dà 4) VIETNAMESE TOURISM AND CULTURAL FILM A film highlighting the beauty and culture of Vietnam will be featured. 5) VIETNAMESE ART View the residence’s rare collection of beautiful paintings, sculptures, and other artistic pieces. In addition, Đông Hồ paintings, along with an introduction to this unique Vietnamese folk art tradition. Đông Hồpainting is a traditional woodblock printmaking art form originating from Đông Hồ village in Bắc Ninh Province, Vietnam. These paintings are created using hand-carved wooden blocks and natural pigments derived from materials such as tree bark, leaves, and seashell powder. Weather permitting, you may tour the residence’s beautiful outdoor gardens! Note: The event is presented as a cultural event organized by us at the Residence of Vietnam’s Ambassador. Your registration fee is used by Things To Do DC solely to present diverse cultural events to our membership. National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism Summit
Take action by joining The National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism's May 18th Washington, D.C. Summit, at the Museum of the Bible. The National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism has been an important coalition for moral clarity against the falsehoods directed towards Jews and Western Civilization in these divided times. Our May 18th event will represent the next phase in this campaign. The event will feature a keynote address, panel discussions, and an open forum for task force members to strategize how best to further our goals. The stage will feature diplomatic officials, prominent Trump Administration personnel, members of Congress, and notable Jewish & Christian Leaders. There will also be a surprise guest announced on the day of the conference. The event will begin at noon with a private luncheon discussion for existing task force members. The public sessions will begin at 1 pm and run until 5 pm, followed by a reception.

Iran and the Bomb:The Origins and Trajectory of the Iranian Nuclear Program
Sina Azodi and Kelsey Davenport discuss Iran’s nuclear program and U.S. policy, exploring its origins, motives, and future trajectory. Among the many reasons for the long hostility between the U.S. and Iran that has twice erupted into warfare over the past year is fear that Iran would develop nuclear weapons. To understand the origins and possible trajectory of this program, the Stimson Center has invited Sina Azodi, author of a ground-breaking new book, “Iran and the Bomb,” to discuss his findings, which include interviews with Iranians who began the country’s nuclear work under the Shah, as well as those who pursued the program following the 1979 revolution. Azodi examines the motives for Iran’s nuclear advances and the ways in which they have remained consistent despite changes in the regime and the regional and international political climate. Nuclear and arms control advocate Kelsey Davenport will contribute expert analysis of U.S. policy toward Iran, its successes and failures, and possible solutions to promote non-proliferation and conflict resolution.
