The activity of the Consular Section is aimed at ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities of the Republic of Uzbekistan residing in the consular district of the Embassy, which includes the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Washington DC, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, as well as Federative Republic of Brazil, Canada and Cuba.
The United States of America was among the first countries to recognize the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The diplomatic relations were established on February 19, 1992, and the first Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the United States of America opened in February, 1993.
