Jennifer Meksraitis
Jennifer is a native Floridian, born and raised in Tampa Bay. Jennifer comes from a family of attorneys, including her sister, Lauren, and father, Michael Meksraitis, who has practiced law in the Tampa area for over 35 years. Michael taught Jennifer what it means to be an effective and empathetic advocate for the injured. Jennifer’s mother, Martha, was born in Cuba, and taught Jennifer the importance of retaining her heritage, which included speaking Spanish in the home.
After graduating from HB Plant High School, Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of North Carolina-Asheville. After graduating, she took a position as an account manager with Allstate Insurance in Atlanta. Unsatisfied, Jennifer decided to attend law school and pursue a career that had more meaning and purpose.
Jennifer received her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in 2006. From there, Jennifer accepted as position as an Assistant Public Defender for the 15th Judicial Circuit in West Palm Beach. For three years, she tried many jury and non-jury cases as a champion for the poor who could not afford to pay for legal representation. Ultimately, Jennifer was called back home to Tampa where she opened her own firm to advocate for the injured and in 2012, Jennifer founded Jennifer Meksraitis, PLLC, now known as Heights Injury Law.
The ethics and standards with which Jennifer was raised, coupled with her experience as a legal advocate for the poor, have given Jennifer a unique and empathetic perspective as a Personal Injury and Criminal Defense attorney. Jennifer is a gifted counselor and a brilliant strategist who knows the law, knows how to fight, and is personally involved in every case that comes through her doors.
