Truth Telling with the Elders is a powerful three-part storytelling and learning series honoring the voices, wisdom, and lived experiences of Black elders across Gwinnett County and the greater Atlanta region. This series will take place throughout Black History Month 2026, creating inclusive, intergenerational spaces for communities of all backgrounds to learn, listen, and celebrate the diverse and global roots of Black identity, from the motherland of Africa to the Caribbean diaspora to the historical contributions of foundational Black Americans. These events will center on elders aged 70 and older, many of whom are among the last living witnesses of segregation, educational transformation, and the Civil Rights Movement. Their truths, resilience, and memories are living libraries that must be preserved before they are lost to time.
