To be an effective attorney, one should try to understand more than just the law, one must understand the mechanics that drive companies, technology and society.
In that pursuit, Ms. Uma Bansal began as a student of Electrical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, exploring subjects ranging from microchips to fiber optics. At Hopkins, Ms. Bansal obtained a graduate fellowship grant and was inducted into Eta Kappa Nu, the electrical engineering honor society. She fostered connections between future scientists and companies by establishing and running a chapter of the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE).
After obtaining her Electrical Engineering degree, Ms. Bansal worked as a project manager for the Navy, at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. She helped to bring wireless technology to large naval vessels while collaborating with small businesses. Ms. Bansal attended Boston College Law School and obtained her Juris Doctorate. There, she studied the inner workings of corporations, intellectual property, and the law.
