Coro Primavera de Nuestra Señora was established in 1991 at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, with a foundational mission to promote LatinX culture and community through music and artistic performances. What began as a vision to celebrate Spanish-language heritage has evolved into a vibrant student organization that serves as a cultural anchor for the Notre Dame community.
At its heart, Coro Primavera is about building meaningful connections through song and faith. The organization welcomes students from across the tri-campus community, creating an inclusive space where individuals can celebrate their cultural identity while strengthening bonds with peers who share similar values and interests. Over the past three decades, Coro Primavera has demonstrated remarkable resilience and growth, adapting to challenges while maintaining its core mission of cultural celebration and community building. Even during periods of virtual practice and socially distanced performances, the organization continued to foster a community rooted in love, faith, and artistic expression. This growth has enabled expanded participation in inter-choir collaborations and performances that reach audiences beyond the Notre Dame campus.
Today, Coro Primavera remains the only Spanish choir on campus, standing as a testament to the enduring importance of cultural representation and celebration in higher education. The organization continues singing con todo nuestro corazón—with all our hearts—uplifting the LatinX and multicultural communities at Notre Dame through music, tradition, and genuine human connection.
