Founded on June 28, 2018, the Association of Chinese Americans in Kentuckiana (ACAK) is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status dedicated to strengthening the Chinese American community throughout Louisville, Kentucky and southern Indiana. At its core, ACAK's mission centers on three interconnected goals: preserving and promoting Chinese cultural heritage, facilitating the integration of Chinese Americans into mainstream society, and improving the overall quality of life and well-being for both Chinese Americans and the broader community. Unlike membership-driven organizations, ACAK operates as a volunteer-based association governed by a Board of Directors and managed by elected Officers who oversee various committees focused on community engagement and cultural programming. The organization recognizes the importance of building bridges across cultural boundaries and serves as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue between Eastern and Western perspectives. ACAK provides a welcoming space for individuals and families seeking to celebrate Chinese traditions, participate in educational opportunities, and connect with others who share an appreciation for cross-cultural understanding. By fostering genuine relationships and collaborative opportunities within the Louisville area, ACAK demonstrates its commitment to creating a more connected and culturally enriched community for all residents.
