Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated began in 1938 when Marion Turner Stubbs Thomas, a concert pianist and mother, envisioned a social organization connecting children from African American families during a time of limited cultural opportunities. Today, this national organization boasts over 252 chapters representing more than 40,000 family members across the country. The Jackson, MS Chapter embodies this legacy by serving as a community of mothers dedicated to nurturing the next generation of African American leaders. With 56 families actively participating, the chapter focuses on strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, and civic engagement. For more than five decades, the Jackson MS Chapter has remained committed to the principle that all children deserve equal opportunities in life, regardless of background. The organization emphasizes the importance of maternal support and community connection in child development, recognizing that children thrive when surrounded by intentional mentorship and diverse experiences.
