In 1977, eight female CRE brokers met at Busch’s Grove to discuss how they would work together in a business with very few women in leadership positions. Five years later, they took their network to the next level, forming the St. Louis chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW).
These pioneers put St. Louis in the forefront of change, starting four years ahead of similar chapters on the East Coast and five years ahead of a similar group on the West Coast. The St. Louis chapter led a growing national trend, even eclipsing the formation of the national organization (fka NNCREW) by seven years.
