Since 1974, the Coalition of Labor Union Women has served as the nation's premier organization dedicated exclusively to union women, and the Greater Kansas City Chapter continues this legacy of empowerment and solidarity in Blue Springs, MO and throughout the region. Rooted in four foundational goals established at CLUW's founding convention—promoting affirmative action, strengthening women's union roles, organizing unorganized women, and increasing women's political participation—the chapter remains committed to creating meaningful change in workplaces and communities. The Greater Kansas City Chapter functions as more than an advocacy organization; it's a supportive community where union women connect, share experiences, and collectively address common challenges. Members receive regular updates on legislative developments, workplace issues, and policy changes that impact working families. The chapter hosts events, maintains member resources, and fosters networks that empower women to speak out for equal pay, safe working conditions, comprehensive benefits, and freedom from harassment and discrimination. With representation from dozens of international and national unions, the chapter brings together diverse perspectives and experiences from across the labor movement. For women workers in Blue Springs and the Kansas City area seeking community, advocacy, education, and solidarity with other union members, the Greater Kansas City Chapter of CLUW provides an invaluable platform for collective action and mutual support.
