Founded in 1976, the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance Billings Chapter represents nearly five decades of commitment to supporting women in accounting and finance careers throughout Billings, MT and the surrounding region. Based in Lame Deer, Montana, the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center, Inc. (NIWRC) stands as a Native-led organization rooted in the belief that Tribal Nations have the inherent right to protect their women and children through reclaimed sovereignty and traditional governance practices. The NIWRC mission centers on providing national leadership to promote safety for Native women and communities by amplifying grassroots advocacy and supporting culturally grounded approaches to ending violence. Recognizing that federal legislation and policies have historically limited Tribal Nations' legal authority to investigate and prosecute crimes against women, NIWRC works to close this justice gap by developing resources, training, and support systems that strengthen Tribal responses. The organization's board and staff are composed entirely of Native women with deep commitment to the safety and dignity of Indigenous communities.
