Founded on February 9, 2003, the Chinese American Society of Anesthesiology represents a collaborative vision born from ten dedicated anesthesiologists who met during a post-graduate assembly in December 2002. What began as a conversation about shared professional interests evolved into a thriving organization serving the Warren, NJ area and beyond. CASA was established with a clear mission: to enhance communication among peers, serve the community with elevated standards, and create a supportive network for Chinese American physicians and scientists in anesthesiology. The organization embodies the values of its founders—including Dr. Haiming Wang and nine fellow pioneers—who recognized the importance of professional solidarity and collective advancement in medicine. Over two decades, CASA has grown into a meaningful community for anesthesiologists, providing a platform for members to connect, share knowledge, and contribute to the broader medical field. The society acts as a public voice advocating for improved healthcare standards and patient protection, while simultaneously fostering international relationships and professional exchanges among anesthesiologists worldwide. Based in Warren, New Jersey, CASA maintains regional and international connections spanning Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, and beyond. The organization's foundation reflects a deep commitment to professional excellence, community service, and the elevation of medical practice standards. By bringing together physicians and scientists of Chinese descent, CASA creates meaningful opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and the advancement of anesthesiology as a specialty.
