Founded in 2007, the Jewish Women's Foundation of New Jersey serves the Whippany, NJ community as a unique giving circle built on the principle that women working together can transform lives. JWF-NJ invites women to pool their financial resources, ideas, and energy to support programs and initiatives that matter most to them. The foundation's mission centers on improving the quality of life for women and girls while strengthening the entire community through strategic grantmaking and advocacy.
At its core, JWF-NJ operates on a simple but powerful concept: every member has an equal voice and stake in decision-making. This democratic approach ensures that philanthropic dollars reflect the collective values and priorities of the women involved, creating a transparent and inclusive giving experience. Members engage in hands-on philanthropy, learning about pressing issues and actively participating in grant decisions that affect real lives.
The foundation addresses challenges that resonate with many women—from domestic violence prevention and education to workplace equity and family support. By examining these issues through a gender lens, JWF-NJ funds both secular and Jewish organizations working at grassroots, state, and national levels. Since its establishment, the foundation has supported more than 100 organizations and raised awareness of critical social issues. JWF-NJ represents a community of women committed to creating sustainable, meaningful change—proving that when women come together with purpose, they can transform their communities and beyond.
