The Finger Lakes Women’s Bar Association (FLWBA), founded in 2006, is one of 20 chapters of Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, an organization committed to the advancement of women in the legal profession and in society that advocates for women and children throughout the state. Our chapter allows both male and female members and offers many exciting events, including our annual Wine Law CLE and monthly membership luncheons.
FLWBA's purpose is to establish and direct policies and issue policy statements on issues of local significance, especially those relating to women lawyers and women in general, including families and children. We aim to bring such issues to the attention of WBASNY for further endorsement and action.
Our Chapter's mission is also to cooperate with, aid and support organizations and causes which advance the status and progress of women in society; to encourage the education of lawyers; to promote improvement in the administration of justice; to inform its members and disseminate information to them through such means as may be appropriate; and to participate in activities of WBASNY with respect to issues of statewide, national or international significance.
