Since 2004, the LGBT Community Center of Central PA has been building on a foundation of community-driven vision and inclusive values in Harrisburg and the surrounding region. What began as a strategic planning initiative evolved into a formal coalition in 2006, and transformed into a thriving 501(c)(3) organization following the 2009 merger with Common Roads, an LGBTQ+ youth organization with nearly two decades of service history. Originally established as The Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition, the organization evolved to its current name in 2015 to better reflect its statewide focus on public policy change.
