PFLAG Franklin is a grassroots community organization rooted in the belief that diversity should be celebrated and all people respected, valued, and affirmed regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Based in Franklin, Tennessee, the chapter brings together LGBTQ individuals, parents, family members, friends, and allies who share a common vision of creating a caring, just, and affirming world. The organization was founded on three core pillars: providing emotional and practical support for families and allies of LGBTQ people, educating the broader community about the unique challenges facing LGBTQ individuals, and advocating for policies and laws that ensure full equality. PFLAG Franklin's strength lies in its diverse membership, which includes parents at various stages of their journey, educators, grandparents, and LGBTQ community members themselves. The organization recognizes the complexity of many members' experiences, including those who may have endured religious trauma, and creates intentionally welcoming spaces for healing and connection. Through its commitment to confidentiality, inclusive practices, and collaborative partnership with other organizations, PFLAG Franklin works daily to ensure that LGBTQ people in Williamson County are safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved by their communities.
