Rooted in Dallas, TX, the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (AKISAN) Dallas Metro Chapter represents the indigenous people of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria who have made the Dallas-Fort Worth area their home. Since 2010, this community-centered organization has been dedicated to developing the next generation of Akwa Ibom citizens in the USA while maintaining a strong affinity to their cultural roots and heritage.
AKISAN's mission centers on fostering genuine connections among brothers and sisters in the Dallas community, creating a welcoming environment where everyone is appreciated and thrives together. The association believes that cultural preservation and community support go hand-in-hand, which is why it provides emergency assistance during times of crisis, educational scholarships and workshops, and immigration support for members navigating life in the United States.
