For women 30+ navigating the identity shifts of womanhood and motherhood.
The Mama’s Bag is created and hosted by Valaencia Thompson, a wife, mama, community builder, creator, and mental wellness advocate based in the Katy area.
The Mama’s Bag was created with Black women at heart, centered on our lived experiences, identity shifts, and evolving seasons of motherhood and womanhood.
This space is for women in their 30s and beyond—where life has a way of stretching you. Roles shift, priorities change, and you’re often becoming someone new while still holding everything you already are. Whether through motherhood or other life transitions, this season calls for reflection, grounding, and real connection.
Coffee and Connection is hosted in collaboration with Kona Reserve Coffee in Cypress—this is a space for women to slow down, connect, and be present together.
We’ll gather over coffee (or your drink of choice) and engage in guided conversation designed to move beyond small talk into meaningful connection.
This is an intentional space for women to step outside routine and into community.
Together, we’ll create space for:
Mindful, meaningful conversation
Guided connection beyond introductions
Genuine relationships with women in similar seasons
Stepping outside routine and into community
You will leave with:
Actionable takeaways for everyday life
Guided journaling and mindfulness prompts
A deeper sense of clarity, grounding, and connection
This is not a networking event. It’s an intentionally intimate gathering for real connection and presence.
Please RSVP to reserve your seat. Space is limited.
Please note: This is an adults-only gathering. Due to limited capacity, we kindly ask that no children attend.
Death Cafe informed by Black and Brown experience. Open to all.
This monthly Death Cafe centers Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in conversation about death, dying, and grief.
Experiences of loss are shaped by culture, history, land, and systems. This gathering intentionally makes space for those realities and the nuances that are not always acknowledged in mixed settings.
All are welcome. We ask that participants who do not identify as BIPOC attend with a commitment to listen, reflect, and honor the focus of the space.
This event follows the global Death Cafe model:
• No agenda and no presentation
• No intention of leading participants to a conclusion or course of action
• Not therapy, grief counseling, research, or community consultation
• Participant-led discussion only
Death Cafe is for people who feel able to engage in open conversation about death. If you are seeking grief counseling or bereavement support, there are other spaces better suited for that care, and we can provide you with those community resources.
These gatherings are supported by the Death Collaborative, a nonprofit dedicated to community conversations about death.

Black men deserve a space where their voices are heard and their experiences are understood without judgment. In a world where vulnerability is often seen as weakness and systemic barriers make it harder to access the support they need, Breakfast & Brotherhood creates a safe and affirming environment for connection.
This group is about more than conversation; it’s about unpacking the weight of societal expectations, challenging the stigma around mental health, and building a sense of community rooted in trust, understanding, and growth. Here, Black men can reflect, share, and support one another as they navigate life’s complexities.
Welcome to Healing Together - a group where Black men and women can come as they are, be real, and find healing together. We know how hard it can be to find a place where you don’t have to put on a brave face, where you can talk about what’s really going on, and be truly heard without judgment. You can find us at 7457 Harwin Plaza, Suite 266 every first Saturday at 10 AM, waiting to offer support, understanding, and a sense of connection.
If you’re looking for a space where you can be yourself, talk about what you’re going through, learn something new, or just be around people who really understand, then this group is for you. Here, you’ll find comfort in knowing you’re not alone, draw strength from others’ stories, and build a support system that sticks with you long after the meeting is over.
So, why get up on a Saturday morning? Because you deserve something that’s just for you— a place where you can feel supported and leave stronger than when you walked in. It’s not just about one day, it’s about finding real connections that uplift you all week.
