The Nigerian-American Multicultural Council (NAMC) was founded in Houston, Texas in 2011 by a group of concerned Nigerians having identified a need to strengthen, promote and support the growing population of Nigerians not only in Houston but the United States.
We recognized that a new generation of Nigerian-Americans has emerged: Nigerian-Americans who were born in the United States of America or brought to America at a very young age. To preserve the Nigerian heritage in the future generations of Nigerian-Americans it is important continue to propagate the culture, values, ethics and traditions of their Nigerian ancestry.
Thus, the Nigerian-American Multicultural Council (NAMC) was born with the laudable vision of creating a strong and vibrant community of successful Nigerian professionals, young adults and youths, who, while assimilating the American culture, will preserve and pass on their positive Nigerian values and rich heritage to future generations.
NAMC is a Houston based non-profit organization that seeks to build a vibrant Nigerian community in Houston and serve as a bridge between the cultures of Nigeria and the United States of America.
