The Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at its meeting in August 2020 approved the formation of 37th Chapter of ICAI in Houston, Texas, USA. The ICAI Houston, Texas Chapter is the 3rd chapter of ICAI in the USA. The Houston Chapter was established to serve the professional needs of the members of ICAI based in Houston and the surrounding region. The ICAI Houston chapter shall also endeavor to contribute to the development of the CA profession at large in conjunction with ICAI and ICAI chapters in the United States.

The mission of India House is to unite cultures, create bridges, and help the community by bringing resources, education, services, and Indian culture to Houstonians. Over the last 45 years, the Indo-American community has seen incredible growth within the city of Houston. At present there are at least three generations of Indo-Americans living in Houston. It was their collective dream to build a community center to cater to the cultural needs of the community allowing people from all faiths and backgrounds to use our space and showcase diversity.
The founding members of India House soon realized the increasing need to address community issues faced by the economically challenged, senior citizens and children alike. Therefore, our community center expanded its efforts to include an outreach program that provides free services which address community needs beyond culture diversity. Since its inception, India House has been serving more than 10,000 people annually in the Greater Houston area. Our strong partnerships with the Houston Food Bank, Houston Community College, Houston Health Department, Harris Health and other organizations allow India House to realize its vision of serving the community and becoming an avenue for the Indo-American community to give back to their city.
Food distribution, free classes, sports and activities for all age groups, charity health clinics, legal consultations and informative seminars are just a few of the services that we offer. Our building has banquet halls, conference rooms and classrooms that are available for community and personal events giving people and organizations the freedom to celebrate, educate or donate. Our programs and services are open to all, regardless of religion, race and ethnicity. We are able to deliver these services thanks to our very encouraging and supportive Trustees, Board, Management Team, and Volunteers.

The Consulate General of India, Houston represents the Republic of India with a consular jurisdiction serving Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Nebraska. The Consulate extends its services to Indian citizens, US citizens and foreigners resident in the United Sates on a range of consular services. it also actively promotes India-US bilateral economic and academic engagement between business, industry and educational institutions. The Consulate also reaches out to elected officials and the Overseas Indian community on a wide range of issues.
The Indo-American Association is Houston’s longest running arts organization with a mission to preserve and promote the performing arts of the Indian sub-continent. For 28 years, we have provided a platform for both world-renowned as well as emerging artists at fine venues such as the Wortham Center, Brown Auditorium, Moore's School of Music, Hobby Centre, MATCH, Asia Society, and Stafford Civic Center.
Over the years, IAA has built a reputation of fostering the appreciation of performing arts within diverse Houston communities and now in our virtual world. In 2020 and 2021, with the cancellation of our entire season, IAA Houston launched a robust digital platform and hosted more than 150+ virtual performances and productions.
Indo American Association (IAA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes the arts and culture of India in the American context. It brings varied and avant-garde entertainment from India to residents of greater Houston and globally. IAA receives regular grant funding from the Texas Arts Commission and the City of Houston through the Cultural Arts Council of Houston and Harris County. Additional support comes from individual sponsors, season ticket subscribers, corporate and individual patrons; and last, but not the least, by supporters who buy tickets to individual events.
