Celebrate Mexican culture with great vibes, music, and fun at Viva México 2026 with the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center! Viva Mexico! Saturday, Sept 12, 2026 4:00-9:00pm Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center600 River Street, Austin Texas 78701 The Emma S. Barrientos Mexican-American Cultural Center (ESB MACC) presents its 19th annual Viva México celebration! This lively outdoor celebration in collaboration with Univision includes live mariachi music, local bands, and folkloric dance performances. It is a family-friendly alcohol-free event with free children’s art activities, games, and a vendor market.Univision, our local Spanish-language news station, will be providing bilingual hosts for the event. They bring high-energy excitement to our announcements in Spanish and English. The Mexican Consulate Humberto Hernández Haddad will give the “Grito de Independencia” or call to independence. Viva Mexico is an Austin tradition that pays tribute to both Mexico’s Independence Day and to the diverse cultural traditions of Austin’s Mexican, Mexican-American, Latino, Chicano, and Tejano community. Everyone is welcome to this celebration. Family-friendly cultural event celebrating Dominican Independence with coffee, food, and Domino tournament. Dominican Republic Independence Day Party — Austin, TX Join us to celebrate Dominican Independence Day at Comunidad Specialty Coffee & Cold Press Juice, a Dominican-owned, family-run coffee shop in East Austin built on comunidad, cultura, and good coffee. There’s no better place to celebrate independence than a space created by and for the community. This is a family-friendly celebration. Pull up for Dominican coffee all day, breakfast sandwiches in the morning, sancocho served in the afternoon, and a domino tournament, bringing everyone together. Expect good vibes, people catching up, dominoes clicking, and culture front and center. The domino tournament will run from 12pm-5pm, so if you want to participate, make sure you arrive before 12pm to sign up. Spots are limited. The winner will receive a Comunidad gift card, a Greca y más. This event is about celebrating independence the Dominican way — en coro, with food, coffee, and community.
