A bold, high-energy hip-hop stage play about community, survival, and the fight to be seen in a city that’s changing.
The Miseducation of… a bold, high-energy hip-hop stage play about community, survival, and the fight to be seen in a city that’s changing fast. As residents face displacement, broken systems, and their own hard truths, comedy, music, and raw honesty collide. Urgent, unapologetic, and deeply Black. This isn’t just a story, it’s a reality too close to home.
Death Cafe informed by Black and Brown experience. Open to all.
This monthly Death Cafe centers Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in conversation about death, dying, and grief.
Experiences of loss are shaped by culture, history, land, and systems. This gathering intentionally makes space for those realities and the nuances that are not always acknowledged in mixed settings.
All are welcome. We ask that participants who do not identify as BIPOC attend with a commitment to listen, reflect, and honor the focus of the space.
This event follows the global Death Cafe model:
• No agenda and no presentation
• No intention of leading participants to a conclusion or course of action
• Not therapy, grief counseling, research, or community consultation
• Participant-led discussion only
Death Cafe is for people who feel able to engage in open conversation about death. If you are seeking grief counseling or bereavement support, there are other spaces better suited for that care, and we can provide you with those community resources.
These gatherings are supported by the Death Collaborative, a nonprofit dedicated to community conversations about death.

More About Us...
Who We Are
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Professionals Houston is a community of professionals dedicated to increasing the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact their communities.
Our What
Our 2026 goal is to raise $30,000 in scholarships for students in the Houston area—providing critical financial support to help them pursue and complete their engineering education.
Our Why
We believe education transforms lives. Many talented students face financial barriers that limit their potential. By removing those barriers, we empower future leaders, innovators, and change-makers while fostering a more diverse and inclusive engineering field.
How You Can Help
Support our mission by donating to our scholarship fund. Your contribution directly invests in students’ futures and helps us expand our impact in the Houston community.
