Alexander Y. Kim
Alexander Y. Kim, MD, FSIR is a nationally recognized Vascular & Interventional Radiologist who is the Co-founder and Medical Director of National Vascular Physicians, a practice designed by him and his co-founder, Dr. Lynskey, to provide personalized care and the most advanced minimally invasive treatments to patients in the outpatient setting.
Dr. Kim has over 18 years of clinical experience. Following medical training, Dr. Kim completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Vascular & Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital. He also successfully completed a research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City. Following his clinical training, Dr. Kim joined the staff at Georgetown where he became the program director for the Vascular & Interventional Radiology Fellowship and served as the Chief of the Vascular & Interventional Radiology division.
Dr. Kim is a national leader in treatment of liver cancers, uterine fibroids, and symptoms of benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH). He has led or participated in various clinical trials and has written a number of publications and book chapters regarding the treatment of these disease processes. He has frequently been invited to speak at various national and international conferences regarding these topics. Dr. Kim has had a leadership position on a number of committees for the Society of Interventional Radiology and has been on the advisory boards of various medical companies, and has also served as a board examiner for the American Board of Radiology.
He has been on the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazines’ lists of “Best Docs” for multiple years. He is a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology and has memberships in other medical societies including the American Medical Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Originally from the Seattle area, Dr. Kim is a faithful devotee of all Seattle sports teams, when he and his wife are not busy chasing around their young children.
