Zane Killgo, fifth-generation Arlingtonian and multimedia fine artist created a series of digital collages depicting the three historically Black neighborhoods Green Valley, Hall's Hill, and Johnson's Hill. The Green Valley collage was awarded second place in the Claim to Fame Juried Exhibition.
Arlington art lovers have joined together to raise funds to add oversize prints of these collages to the Arlington Art Collection to ensure these historic communities are a part of the County's collection. Zane's fiscal sponsor is Fractured Atlas, ensuring that all donations are 100 percent TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
There will be a short program with a panel of residents from these neighborhoods to discuss the importance and impact of these neighborhoods and what having the images included in the Arlington Art Collection means to them.

Presented as part of the region’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, each session offers hands-on artmaking inspired by folk crafts and traditions from across Latin America and South America. Enjoy alongside live Latin music, tacos, drinks, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the park. Bring your friends, a lawn chair, or a picnic and spend a fall evening making art at Met Park with us.
