The Filipino American Northwest Association service areas include the Inland Northwest , Spokane County and outlying areas and Coeur d'Alene ,Kootenai County and outlying areas. Our Mission is to Promote the Arts, Our Filipino Culture, Our Rich History and build a Community supporting each other. Our mission is to continue progressing the enrichment of diversity and cultural identity in the Northwest. Remembering our story, our traditions, our customs including the culinary arts! But also memorializing the trials and tribulations our predessors had to overcome and sacrifice to bestow upon us the rights we have today. By fostering to continue our Filipino heritage in order that we may be better prepared for the modern challenges that confront our society today, and that together, all Filipino Americans in the Northwest will be united as one.

The organization emerged from the groundwork laid by Dr. Manuel Roco and Dr. Joseph Sueno, who carried forward the legacy of earlier collaborative efforts to create a unified voice for Filipino-American doctors throughout Washington State. FAPWA's mission centers on enriching the lives of colleagues while connecting individual endeavors for the collective good, representing Filipino-American physicians as essential participants in providing comprehensive care to Washington's diverse populations. Over more than two decades, FAPWA has established itself through meaningful community engagement and international service. The organization's signature "Adopt a Community" program has become a model for other U.S.-based medical groups, demonstrating sustained commitment to serving vulnerable populations both domestically and internationally, including work with indigenous communities in the Philippines.
