La Mesa Redonda, known in English as the Hispanic Roundtable, is a locally rooted civic organization based in Olympia, Washington, dedicated to strengthening the Latino community through meaningful partnerships and cultural representation. Founded on the belief that a strong Latino community benefits everyone, the organization welcomes all who share a commitment to supporting Hispanic individuals and families. This professional network brings together agency workers, educators, mentors, and community leaders who understand the unique challenges facing Spanish-speaking residents of Thurston County and surrounding areas. Beyond regular bimonthly meetings, the Hispanic Roundtable demonstrates its commitment through tangible community programs, including the celebrated Latinx Youth Summit that has drawn hundreds of high school students across five counties since its inception. The organization recognizes historical inequities that have affected Latino families and actively works to build bridges between students and higher education, helping young people envision themselves as college students and future community leaders. Members share a vision of a strong Latino community where residents have greater access to education, know their available resources, communicate effectively with the broader community, and maintain connections with other communities of color. The Hispanic Roundtable's approach is rooted in cultural understanding, professional collaboration, and the belief that investing in Latino youth and families is an investment in the future of the entire South Sound region.
