El Sr. Gillen es alumno de la Universidad de Carolina del Norte, Charlotte y la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de West Virginia. Antes de asistir a la universidad y la facultad de derecho, el Sr. Gillen se desempeñó como lingüista español y analista / reportero de inteligencia en el Cuerpo de Marines de los Estados Unidos.
Antes de unirse a Robinette Legal Group, el Sr. Gillen practicó defensa de seguros en dos firmas de defensa líderes en West Virginia. También se desempeñó como secretario de derecho judicial en el Tribunal de Circuito del Condado de Harrison.
