Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance Huntsville Chapter
Founded in 1938 as the American Society of Women Accountants and now known as the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance, this professional organization has championed women's advancement in accounting and finance for over eight decades. The Huntsville, AL chapter was established on December 4, 1982, with 35 founding members and has since become a vital community for women professionals in the region. The organization's mission centers on enabling women in all accounting and related fields to reach their full potential while contributing meaningfully to the profession's development. Members represent a diverse cross-section of the accounting world—from seasoned partners at regional and national firms to students just beginning their careers, and professionals returning to the workforce. The chapter meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month, with additional informal networking luncheons scheduled monthly on the first Thursday at various Huntsville locations. Beyond networking, the chapter invests in the next generation through its scholarship program supporting accounting and finance students at accredited schools.
