Founded in 2003, Birmingham Commercial Real Estate Women Network has grown to over 80 dedicated members committed to transforming the commercial real estate industry by advancing women's achievements. Operating as part of the world's leading business network for women in commercial real estate, BirminghamCREW serves the Birmingham, AL community with a mission focused on influencing industry success through business networking, leadership development, career outreach, and groundbreaking research. The organization is deeply rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion, encouraging members to be forces for activism and community involvement. BirminghamCREW members engage in provocative dialogue across every facet of commercial real estate, pushing boundaries and fostering innovation within the industry. The chapter is proud to support the CREW Network Foundation as an A-List Hall of Fame member, contributing to the Linda Hollemon Scholarship Endowment and advancing career outreach programs for women entering the field. Founded in 1938 as the American Society of Women Accountants and now known as the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance, this professional organization has championed women's advancement in accounting and finance for over eight decades. The Huntsville, AL chapter was established on December 4, 1982, with 35 founding members and has since become a vital community for women professionals in the region. The organization's mission centers on enabling women in all accounting and related fields to reach their full potential while contributing meaningfully to the profession's development. Members represent a diverse cross-section of the accounting world—from seasoned partners at regional and national firms to students just beginning their careers, and professionals returning to the workforce. The chapter meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month, with additional informal networking luncheons scheduled monthly on the first Thursday at various Huntsville locations. Beyond networking, the chapter invests in the next generation through its scholarship program supporting accounting and finance students at accredited schools. By uniting women employed in various accounting and finance functions around a shared commitment to professional excellence and mutual support, the Huntsville chapter embodies the alliance's core values and creates meaningful connections among accounting professionals in the community.
