Ever wanted to sing in a gospel choir?
Do you start singing every time you hear "O Happy Day"?
Did the movie "Sister Act" or "The Preacher's Wife" make you fall in love with gospel music all over again?
This summer, renowned gospel musician and Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir Founding Artistic Director Terrance Kelly is bringing the magic back to Santa Clarita, and you're invited to be part of the music.
After a fantastic event last October that brought together old friends, new friends, and people who had never tried gospel singing before, we're back for a three-part workshop and concert series. St. Stephen's Episcopal has once again opened their doors, with Music Minister Josh Wenz co-hosting this joyful community experience.
No auditions and no experience necessary. Songs are taught by ear in the Black gospel tradition. You just need to show up ready to sing!

On Saturday Aug 22, the Workshop Choir will gather at 3pm for Sound Check and a run through of the show before the concert. Doors will be at 6pm and the concert 7pm.
Workshop Choir participants need to attend at least TWO of the three rehearsals (July 11, Aug 8, Aug 22 sound check) in order to perform at the concert. This eventbrite listing makes it look like you "select" a workshop date but your registration is for the ENTIRE SERIES and you are welcome at all and expected to participate in AT LEAST TWO rehearsals before performing in the concert.

Featuring the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America and the 60-stringed bandura
Featuring the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America (UBC), under the direction of artistic director Oleh Mahlay, and the one-of-a-kind 60-stringed bandura.
The UBC, a 2025 recipient of the NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS National Heritage Fellowship Award recipient, comes to Arizona with its Все буде Україна -- Ukraine Lives! concert program. The ensemble, established in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1918, established itself in North America in 1949 after a turbulent and perilous history. Over the past century, the ensemble has performed in Carnegie Hall, Massey Hall, Lincoln Center, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, touching and inspiring hundreds of thousands of listeners with its performances, educational programs, and extensive discography.
The ensemble continues to amplify Ukraine’s voice and to highlight the culture's history and identity.
This performance is more than just music: It is a celebration of Ukraine's cultural heritage and resilience.
The concert will start at 1:00 pm. Doors will open at 12:30 pm.
The ensemble's "22 and under" free admission policy is part of the UBC Bandura Education and Outreach program.

LA-community musicians and international guest artists come together for a concert honoring Khachatur Avetisyan and the Armenian Genocide.
In observance of the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, the Armenian Music Program hosts special guest musicians from Armenia and the LA Armenian community in this concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of the renowned composer Khachatur Avetisyan. The LA-based Haikian Chamber Choir, accompanied by a folk-instrument orchestra directed by Gayane Baghdasaryan and Mikayel Avetisyan, along with guest solo artists, will perform Avetisyan's concertos for folk instruments and works dedicated to the memory of the Armenian Genocide.
