Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento
The jurisdiction of this consulate general covers a total of twenty-four counties in the state of California : Alpine , Amador , Butte , Calaveras , Colusa , El Dorado , Glenn , Lassen , Modoc , Mono , Placer , Plumas , Sacramento , San Joaquin , Shasta , Sierra , Siskiyou , Stanislaus , Sutter , Tehama , Toulumne , Yolo and Juba.
The Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento, California, was opened as a Career Consulate in 1942, with a direct constituency in nine counties in the Northeast of the State of California and in the State of Nevada. Subsequently, its constituency was expanded to twenty-four counties located in northwestern California and the State of Nevada, with the exception of Clark County, where the City of Las Vegas, Nevada is located. In 1997, its rank was raised to the category of Consulate General, maintaining the same consular district. However, at the end of 2001, due to the establishment of the Carrera Consulate in Las Vegas, Nevada, the circumscription was reduced to the twenty-four counties of the State of California. The Consular Representation has been in charge of fifteen Career Consuls and four General Consuls.
