Founded in response to discussions between former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and diaspora professionals regarding brain-drain and resource mobilization, Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas represents a community-driven movement rooted in patriotism and nation-building. Based in Washington, DC since its incorporation in 2000-2001, NIDOA embodies the vision that diaspora Nigerians can positively impact their immediate environments while making significant contributions to Nigeria's development. The organization believes deeply in harnessing the collective talents, expertise, and resources of Nigerians living abroad to accelerate their personal success and contribute meaningfully to building a greater Nigeria. NIDOA's mission centers on promoting the spirit of patriotism, networking, and cooperation among diaspora Nigerians throughout the United States and the Americas, fostering both individual and collective achievement.
