Founded in 1989, 100 Black Men of South Florida, Inc. represents a powerful coalition of accomplished men committed to transforming lives through mentorship and community leadership in Miami Lakes and the broader South Florida region. Born from the conviction that community leaders must actively combat illiteracy, professional stagnation, and economic disenfranchisement, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit has spent over three decades serving as a catalyst for change. The organization's founding members recognized the urgent need for successful African-American professionals to give back, establishing a vehicle for meaningful action that addresses systemic barriers facing African-American communities and other minorities. Today, the Miami Lakes-based chapter operates with a clear mission: to improve the quality of life within their communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African-Americans. What distinguishes 100 Black Men of South Florida is their holistic approach grounded in four core values—Respect for Family, Spirituality, Justice, and Integrity. Their members, drawn from diverse professional backgrounds, volunteer their time and expertise to mentor youth, provide financial literacy education, facilitate civic engagement, and advocate for social justice. The organization has invested over one million dollars in programs serving the South Florida community, with staff and volunteers impacting thousands of lives annually. By emphasizing the potential of African-American youth and particularly young African-American males, the organization seeks to empower individuals to become self-sufficient shareholders in their communities. 100 Black Men of South Florida stands as a beacon of leadership, demonstrating that real men give real time to uplift their communities and create lasting opportunities for the next generation.
