Founded in 1989 by William L. Sheals and formally chartered in 1992, 100 Black Men of North Metro Atlanta, Inc. has served the Roswell and greater North Metro Atlanta community for over three decades with a steadfast commitment to leadership and community transformation. What began as an informal group of business professionals seeking to provide positive African American male role models has evolved into the region's twenty-seventh chapter of the national 100 Black Men of America organization. Today, this Roswell-based organization continues its founding mission to serve as a beacon of leadership, utilizing the diverse talents of its members to create environments where young people are motivated to achieve and become self-sufficient contributors to their communities. The chapter's deep roots in Cobb, Gwinnett, and North Fulton Counties reflect a genuine commitment to long-term community engagement rather than short-term initiatives. North Metro believes in the power of mentoring across all life stages—from at-risk youth to seniors—recognizing that empowerment and personal development are lifelong journeys. With award-winning mentors and mentees, the organization has earned recognition for its authentic approach to building relationships and creating lasting change. The members of 100 Black Men of North Metro Atlanta embody the principle of "real men giving real time," dedicating themselves to improving the overall quality of life for the youth, adults, and senior citizens in the communities they serve.
