Established in 1985, MABUHAY, INC. was organized in response to a felt need in the Filipino American community for a support group — a network of individuals, families and their friends who have similar concerns about assimilation into the American mainstream, interracial marriages, raising biracial children, and maintaining ties with the “old country” — the Philippines.
Goals and Objectives
- To foster a better understanding of American and Filipino culture among its members by providing a forum whereby ideas, hopes, talents and skills may be shared and developed.
- To provide emergency assistance to qualified persons in need.
- To form a network of resident Filipino Americans to facilitate adjustment to life in the United States .
- To foster an awareness and understanding of the Civil Rights Act.
- To develop, promote and sponsor programs and activities that advance the ideals of multiculturalism, peaceful co-existence and harmony among all people.
Katipunan, Filipino-American Association of Maryland, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to developing social and educational programs that promote Filipino culture in Maryland as well as provide philanthropic opportunities to support charitable causes in both our state and in our homeland.
Our goals are to unify the Filipino American community of Maryland, to foster and enhance the charitable, cultural, social and educational needs of the Filipino.
Orlando is admitted and in good standing to practice in multiple courts, including: (1) State Courts of Texas; (2) State Courts of New York; (3) State Courts of Maryland; (4) State Courts of Tennessee; (5) United States Tax Court; (6) Executive Office for Immigration Review; and (7) United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Orlando obtained several degrees, including a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Houston Law Center, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance from the University of Houston-Victoria, a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Accounting from the University of Houston-Downtown, and an Associate (A.A.) in Business Administration from Eastfield College in Dallas, Texas. He also obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) and Pre-Law degrees from the University of Cordilleras.
Orlando has 15 years of experience in various roles as a Tax Resolution Attorney, Tax Associate, Tax Specialist, Tax Analyst, Tax Consultant, Tax Advisor, and Tax Preparer.

Orlando's role is to provide guidance and support throughout the entire resolution process, ensuring that his clients achieve the best possible outcome.
One of the most important aspects of Orlando's job is to stay up-to-date on the ever-changing tax laws and regulations related to estate taxes. This allows him to provide clients with the most current and effective strategies to minimize their tax liability. Orlando works closely with his clients to analyze their financial situation and develop a customized plan to minimize estate taxes while achieving their estate planning goals.
In addition to tax resolution, Orlando also provides tax planning and compliance services to help his clients avoid future tax problems. This includes developing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and advising his clients on the tax implications of business transactions.
